Enya, born Eithne Pádraigín Ní Bhraonáin on May 17, 1961, in Gweedore, Ireland, is an Irish singer and composer. She began her musical career in 1980 as a member of the family folk group Clannad, leaving in 1982 to pursue a solo career. Her music is characterized by layered vocals and a fusion of Celtic, classical, and ambient elements. Notable albums include "Watermark" (1988), "Shepherd Moons" (1991), and "A Day Without Rain" (2000). Enya has won four Grammy Awards and six World Music Awards.
