Eric Dolphy was an American jazz multi-instrumentalist known for his work on alto saxophone, bass clarinet, and flute. Born on June 20, 1928, in Los Angeles, he was a significant figure in avant-garde jazz. His debut album, "Outward Bound" (1960), features collaborations with trumpeter Freddie Hubbard and pianist Jaki Byard. Other notable albums include "Out There" (1961) and "Out to Lunch!" (1964).
