ESG (Emerald, Sapphire & Gold) is an American band from the Bronx, New York, formed in 1978 by the Scroggins sisters: Renee, Valerie, Deborah, and Marie. Their music blends elements of funk, post-punk, and dance-punk, with their minimalist style influencing numerous artists. Their 1983 debut album, "Come Away with ESG," features tracks like "Moody" and "UFO," the latter becoming one of the most sampled songs in hip-hop history.
