Eskimeaux is the musical project of songwriter and producer Gabrielle Smith, initiated in 2007. Smith is a founding member of the Brooklyn-based art collective The Epoch. Initially, Eskimeaux's recordings were experimental and noise-oriented, but they evolved into more structured pop compositions over time. The 2011 album "Two Mountains" was recorded in collaboration with Benjamin Schurr. In 2015, she released "O.K.", featuring tracks like "Folly" and "Broken Necks". This was followed by the 2016 EP "Year of the Rabbit". Eskimeaux has frequently collaborated with artists such as Mitski and Frankie Cosmos.
