Extortionist is an American deathcore/metalcore band formed in 2013 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The band released their debut EP, "The Black Sheep," in 2014, followed by albums "The Decline" (2017) and "Sever the Cord" (2019). After a brief disbandment in 2019, they reunited in 2020 and released "Devoid of Love & Light" in 2024 under Unique Leader Records. Their music blends elements of deathcore and metalcore, and they are known for their distinctive "pangy" open snare sound and "dodgeball sound" created by striking a metal beer keg with a baseball bat.
