Farm Dogs was a country rock band led by Bernie Taupin, renowned lyricist for Elton John. The band released their debut album, "Last Stand in Open Country," in 1996. Alongside Taupin on vocals, the group included Jim Cregan and Robin Le Mesurier on guitars, Dennis Tufano on harmonica and vocals, and Tony Brock on drums. The album was recorded at Taupin's home studio in Santa Ynez Valley and was influenced by his fascination with American culture and the Wild West. In 2024, the album was released on vinyl for the first time in celebration of Record Store Day.
