Fatback Band is an American funk and disco group formed in 1970 in New York City by drummer Bill Curtis. The band is known for hits like "(Do the) Spanish Hustle," "I Like Girls," and "Backstrokin'." In 1979, they released the single "King Tim III (Personality Jock)," often considered the first commercially released hip-hop single. Their albums "Raising Hell" (1975) and "Night Fever" (1976) charted successfully. The band remains active today, regularly performing at concerts and festivals.
