The Floris Kappeyne Trio is a Dutch jazz ensemble founded by pianist Floris Kappeyne in 2015. The trio comprises Floris Kappeyne on piano, Tijs Klaassen on double bass, and Wouter Kühne on drums. In 2017, they released their debut album "Interchange" under Challenge Records, featuring original compositions that blend the classic sound of the 1960s McCoy Tyner trio with Senegalese sabar rhythms and abstract elements of modern classical music. In 2023, they released the album "Closer". The trio is known for its innovative arrangements and authentic approach to jazz music.
