Folklórny súbor Hornád is an artistic ensemble of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, established in 1963. The ensemble focuses on preserving the dance and music traditions of eastern Slovakia and exploring new ways of their interpretation. In 2011, it became part of the university, enabling participation in academic folklore ensemble competitions, where it received several awards, including the laureate title at Akademická Nitra in 2012, 2014, and 2016. Hornád regularly performs at leading folklore festivals in Slovakia, such as Východná, Myjava, and Detva. In 2017, it achieved the laureate title at the national choreography competition for folklore ensembles with the choreography "Maľovaní".
