Forest City Joe, born Joe Bennie Pugh, was an American blues musician renowned for his harmonica playing. Born in 1926 in Hughes, Arkansas, he was influenced by the style of John Lee "Sonny Boy" Williamson. In 1948, he recorded the single "Memory of Sonny Boy" for Aristocrat Records. Throughout his career, he collaborated with artists such as Muddy Waters and Big Joe Williams. In 1959, he recorded for Atlantic Records under the direction of Alan Lomax.
