Fourplay is an American smooth jazz quartet formed in 1991. The original members were Bob James (keyboards), Lee Ritenour (guitar), Nathan East (bass), and Harvey Mason (drums). In 1997, Ritenour left the group and was replaced by Larry Carlton. In 2010, Carlton departed, and Chuck Loeb joined, who passed away in 2017. The group is known for blending jazz with elements of R&B and pop, appealing to a broad audience. Their debut album, 'Fourplay' (1991), sold over a million copies and topped the Billboard contemporary jazz chart for 33 weeks.
