The Franciscus Quartet is a leading Dutch string quartet, renowned for its intense playing and interesting program choices. All four musicians are active members of Dutch radio orchestras. The quartet maintains a busy concert schedule, regularly performing in prestigious venues such as the Kleine Zaal of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Muziekcentrum Vredenburg, and De Doelen. In 1999, they performed with Jessye Norman in the Grote Zaal of the Concertgebouw, featuring works by Chausson and Ellington. The quartet has released eight CDs, the first in collaboration with Dutch radio AVRO.
