Franck Pourcel was a French violinist and conductor renowned for his orchestral arrangements of popular songs and film scores. After studying at the Paris Conservatoire, he gained fame in the 1950s with the hit "Only You," which reached number 9 on the U.S. Billboard chart. Throughout his career, he recorded approximately 250 albums and over 3000 songs, collaborating with orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Orchestra. His series "Amour, danse et violons" and the classical series "Pages Célèbres" are among his most significant works. Pourcel also served as the conductor for France at the Eurovision Song Contest from 1956 to 1972, with four of his conducted songs winning first place.
