Franco Vassallo is an Italian baritone from Milan who began his singing career in 1994 by winning the AsLiCo international singing competition in Milan. In 1997, he debuted as Ford in Verdi's "Falstaff" at the Arena di Verona. He subsequently gained acclaim in the title role of Rossini's "Il barbiere di Siviglia". Vassallo specialized in bel canto roles by Donizetti and Bellini, performing in opera houses such as La Scala in Milan, the Vienna Staatsoper, and the Metropolitan Opera in New York. He later expanded his repertoire to include Verdi baritone roles, including "Simon Boccanegra", "Attila", and "Rigoletto".
