François Couperin was a French Baroque composer and harpsichordist, renowned for his contributions to keyboard and chamber music. Born in Paris into a musical family, his works include four books of "Pièces de Clavecin," featuring numerous dance pieces and character sketches. "Leçons de Ténèbres" is another significant work showcasing his skills in sacred music. Couperin was appointed as the court organist for Louis XIV, and his music influenced many later composers.
