Franz Hauk is a German organist, conductor, educator, and musicologist known for his work in rediscovering composer Simon Mayr. In 1996, he made his recording debut with the Leipzig Symphony Orchestra. In 2003, he founded the Simon Mayr Chor, a choir dedicated to Mayr's music. Hauk is notable for his extensive recording career, including a 2020 recording of Mayr's Mass in E-flat major and a 2023 recording of Sacchini's oratorio with Concerto de Bassus.
