Franz Joseph Haydn was an Austrian composer of the Classical period, known as the "Father of the Symphony" and the "Father of the String Quartet". During his career, he served as a court musician for the Esterházy family, where he composed numerous symphonies, string quartets, and piano trios. His significant works include the "London Symphonies", "Paris Symphonies", and the oratorios "The Creation" and "The Seasons". Haydn was a friend and mentor to Mozart and a teacher of Beethoven, significantly influencing the development of classical music.
