Fred Simon is an American pianist and composer known for his contributions to jazz music. In the 1970s, he co-founded the Chicago-based jazz fusion group Simon & Bard, which released three albums and collaborated with artists like Larry Coryell and Ralph Towner. Simon has released several solo albums, including "Usually/Always" (1988), "Open Book" (1991), and "Dreamhouse" (2000). His album "Remember the River" (2004) was recorded in collaboration with Paul McCandless and Steve Rodby. Simon is also an active educator, teaching at the Music Institute of Chicago.
