The duo consists of rapper Freddie Gibbs from Gary, Indiana, and producer Madlib from Oxnard, California. Together, they have released two studio albums: "Piñata" in 2014 and "Bandana" in 2019. Both albums received critical acclaim and feature collaborations with artists such as Raekwon, Pusha T, Killer Mike, Anderson .Paak, and others.
