Freddie Redd was an American jazz pianist and composer known for his work in the hard bop style. In 1960, he released the album "Shades of Redd" on the Blue Note label, collaborating with alto saxophonist Jackie McLean and tenor saxophonist Tina Brooks. Redd was also known for his music for the stage play "The Connection." His work is characterized by melodic compositions and expressive piano playing.
