The Zemplín Folklore Ensemble was established in 1957 in Michalovce with the aim of preserving and developing the traditional folk culture of the Zemplín region. The ensemble comprises dance, vocal, and musical sections, with a repertoire that includes numerous folk songs, dances, and customs. Throughout its existence, it has performed over 2,950 times in Slovakia and 1,100 times abroad, visiting 34 countries across 5 continents. Notable collaborations include the "Korene" project with the band Iconito, presenting Slovak folklore in a modern form. The ensemble's discography features albums such as "Folklórny súbor Zemplín" (1982), "V Mihaľovci šumne hrajú" (1999), and "Mam ja hlas jak orgon" (2015).
