G.I.S.M. was a Japanese punk metal band formed in Tokyo in 1981. Their debut album, "Detestation," released in 1984, is noted for its unique vocal delivery and guitar style, uncommon in hardcore punk. In 1987, they released "M.A.N. (Military Affairs Neurotic)," characterized by a slower, metal-oriented sound. Their final album, "SoniCRIME TheRapy," was released in 2001. The band disbanded after guitarist Randy Uchida's death in 2001 but reunited in 2016 for a performance in the Netherlands. Frontman Sakevi Yokoyama passed away in August 2023.
