Gabriel Kahane is an American composer and singer-songwriter known for his eclectic blend of classical music and modern folk-pop. He has released several albums, including "Gabriel Kahane" (2008), "Where Are the Arms" (2011), "The Ambassador" (2014), and "Book of Travelers" (2018). In 2019, he was appointed the inaugural Creative Chair of the Oregon Symphony. Kahane has collaborated with artists such as Paul Simon, Sufjan Stevens, and Phoebe Bridgers. His 2018 oratorio "emergency shelter intake form" explores inequality in America through the lens of housing issues. In March 2020, he relocated to Portland, Oregon.
