Gary Brooker was an English singer, songwriter, and keyboardist, best known as the founding member and lead vocalist of the band Procol Harum. Formed in 1967, the band is renowned for their hit "A Whiter Shade of Pale." After Procol Harum disbanded in 1977, Brooker pursued a solo career, releasing albums such as "No More Fear of Flying" (1979), "Lead Me to the Water" (1982), and "Echoes in the Night" (1985). These albums featured collaborations with former Procol Harum members, including keyboardist Matthew Fisher and drummer BJ Wilson.
