Gerry and the Pacemakers were an English beat group from Liverpool, active in the 1960s. Led by Gerry Marsden, they were the second group signed by manager Brian Epstein after The Beatles. Their first three singles, "How Do You Do It?", "I Like It", and "You'll Never Walk Alone", reached number one on the UK charts. Other notable songs include "Ferry Cross the Mersey" and "Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying". The group disbanded in 1966, but their music remains iconic of the Merseybeat era.
