Gianluigi Trovesi is an Italian jazz saxophonist, clarinetist, and composer. Born in 1944 in Nembro, Italy, he studied harmony and counterpoint under Vittorio Fellegara. In 1978, he won the "RAI TV National Competition for Saxophone and Clarinet," and his debut album "Baghet" received the Critics' National Prize. Notable albums include "Dances" (1985), "From G to G" (1992), and "Les Hommes Armés" (1996). Trovesi has collaborated with artists such as Anthony Braxton, Misha Mengelberg, and Steve Lacy. He is a member of the Italian Instabile Orchestra and performs in a duo with accordionist Gianni Coscia. Trovesi also teaches in Italy.
