Gilgamesh was a British jazz-rock band led by keyboardist and composer Alan Gowen. Active during the 1970s, they were part of the Canterbury scene. The band released two studio albums: "Gilgamesh" (1975) and "Another Fine Tune You've Got Me Into" (1978). Their music blended jazz and progressive rock elements. The group collaborated with musicians such as Hugh Hopper and Trevor Tomkins. After Alan Gowen's death in 1981, the band ceased activity. In 2000, the album "Arriving Twice" was released, featuring archival recordings from 1973–1975.
