Gitkin is a multi-instrumentalist and producer from Brooklyn, New York. His debut album, "5 Star Motel," was released on April 6, 2018, under the Wonderwheel Recordings label. The album blends various musical styles, including Peruvian chicha, Saharan Tuareg, Cuban son montuno, and psych-rock. Gitkin draws from diverse global genres to create his own authentic sound. The album features tracks like "Tail Chaser," "Canción Del Rey," and "Grand Street Feast." Gitkin's music is inspired by stories of his uncle, who traveled across the USA in the 1970s selling counterfeit guitars.
