Gladiator is a Slovak rock band formed in 1989 by brothers Miko, Maroš, and Dušan Hladký, along with Georgio Babulic, in Alekšince. Initially playing thrash metal influenced by bands like Metallica and Sepultura, their debut album "Designation" (1992) featured the track "Profitable Losses," whose music video was the first Slovak clip aired on MTV. They subsequently released "Made of Pain" (1993) and "Third Eye" (1994), gradually transitioning to a more melodic rock sound. In 1997, they released their first Slovak-language song, "Slovenská," which became the song of the year. The current lineup includes Miko Hladký (vocals), Maroš Hladký (bass guitar), Georgio Babulic (drums), Tomáš "Lívo" Vereš (guitar), and Peter Slamečka (keyboards).
