Gladys Knight is an American singer known as the "Empress of Soul." She began her career in the 1960s with the group Gladys Knight & the Pips, achieving international success. In 1978, she released her first solo album, "Miss Gladys Knight," followed by "Gladys Knight" in 1979. Her third solo album, "Good Woman," released in 1991, reached number one on the R&B chart. In 1994, she released "Just for You," which achieved gold status and was nominated for a Grammy Award. In 2000, she won a Grammy for her album "At Last" in the Best Traditional R&B Album category.
