Gladys Knight & the Pips was an American R&B group consisting of Gladys Knight, her brother Merald "Bubba" Knight, and cousins William Guest and Edward Patten. Formed in Atlanta in 1952, the group achieved success in the 1960s and 1970s. Their notable songs include "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" (1967), "Midnight Train to Georgia" (1973), and "Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me" (1974). The group received several awards, including a Grammy for "Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye)" in 1973. In 1996, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
