Gonzalo Rubalcaba is a Cuban jazz pianist and composer, born in Havana in 1963. He comes from a musical family and studied at the Manuel Saumell and Amadeo Roldán conservatories. In 1983, he began his international career, collaborating with Orquesta Aragón and later forming his own group, Grupo Proyecto. His discography includes albums such as "Mi Gran Pasión" (1987), "Discovery: Live at Montreux" (1990), and "Supernova" (2001). He has won three Grammy Awards and four Latin Grammy Awards, including one for the album "Nocturne" (2001) with bassist Charlie Haden. In 2010, he founded his own label, 5Passion Records.
