Grandaddy is an American indie rock band formed in 1992 in Modesto, California. The band consisted of Jason Lytle, Kevin Garcia, Aaron Burtch, Jim Fairchild, and Tim Dryden. Their 1997 debut album, "Under the Western Freeway," received acclaim for its unique sound blending lo-fi aesthetics with electronic elements. The follow-up album, "The Sophtware Slump," released in 2000, was critically acclaimed and solidified their position in the indie scene.
