His 1980 album "Winelight" won a Grammy Award for Best Jazz Fusion Performance and featured the hit "Just the Two of Us" with Bill Withers. Other notable albums include "Mister Magic" and "Inner City Blues". Washington was known for blending jazz with R&B and funk elements, appealing to a broad audience.
