Eddie Jones, known as Guitar Slim, was an American blues guitarist and singer, best known for his 1954 hit "The Things That I Used to Do," which became a blues standard. His music blended blues, R&B, and rock and roll, and he was a pioneer in using distorted guitar sounds. He collaborated with Ray Charles, who produced his biggest hit. His energetic performances and innovative style influenced many later guitarists, including Buddy Guy and Frank Zappa. He died in 1959 at the age of 32.
