Gustav Holst was an English composer and music educator, best known for his orchestral suite "The Planets." He studied at the Royal College of Music in London under Charles Villiers Stanford. In addition to "The Planets," he composed works such as "St. Paul's Suite" and "Egdon Heath." Holst was also a significant teacher, serving at St Paul's Girls' School and Morley College, where he influenced many future composers. His music often drew from English folk songs and Eastern philosophies.
