Hail the Sun is an American post-hardcore band from Chico, California, formed in 2009. The group consists of vocalist and drummer Donovan Melero, guitarists Shane Gann and Aric Garcia, and bassist John Stirrat. They are known for their eclectic style that blends elements of progressive rock, math rock, and screamo. Their debut album, "POW! Right In the Kisser!", was released in 2010, followed by the EP "Elephantitis" in 2012. After signing with Blue Swan Records, they released "Wake" in 2014. In 2016, they moved to Equal Vision Records and released "Culture Scars", which reached number 38 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart. In 2018, they released "Mental Knife". The band has toured with acts such as Dance Gavin Dance, I the Mighty, Circa Survive, and Silverstein, and has performed at festivals like Chain Fest and South By So What?!
