Hailu Mergia is an Ethiopian keyboardist and accordionist known for his contributions to Ethiopian jazz and funk. In the 1970s, he was a member of the Walias Band, collaborating with notable artists like Mulatu Astatke and Tilahun Gessesse. After moving to the United States in the 1980s, he released the album "Hailu Mergia & His Classical Instrument" in 1985. Following a period away from the music scene, he returned with "Lala Belu" in 2018, followed by "Yene Mircha" in 2020.
