Hawkwind is an English rock band formed in November 1969 in London. They are considered pioneers of space rock, incorporating elements of hard rock, progressive rock, and psychedelic rock into their music. Their lyrics often explore themes of urban life and science fiction. The band is best known for their 1972 hit "Silver Machine," which reached number three on the UK Singles Chart. Throughout their career, they have released over 30 studio albums, including "In Search of Space" (1971) and "Warrior on the Edge of Time" (1975).
