Hawthorne Heights is an American rock band formed in 2001 in Dayton, Ohio. Originally known as A Day in the Life, the band achieved commercial success with their debut album, "The Silence in Black and White" (2004), which received RIAA gold certification. Their second album, "If Only You Were Lonely" (2006), also attained gold status. The band is known for their emo and post-hardcore sound, with notable tracks including "Ohio Is for Lovers" and "Saying Sorry". In 2007, they lost guitarist Casey Calvert, who died from combined drug intoxication. Despite this loss, the band continued to produce music, releasing several more albums, including "Fragile Future" (2008) and "Skeletons" (2010).
