Heaven 17 is an English synthpop band formed in Sheffield in 1980. Original members Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh, former members of The Human League, along with Glenn Gregory, created a trio known for their electronic sound. Their debut album, "Penthouse and Pavement" (1981), reached number 14 on the UK Albums Chart and achieved gold certification. The follow-up album, "The Luxury Gap" (1983), featured the hit "Temptation," which reached number 2 on the UK Singles Chart.
