Heavy Cruiser was an American hard rock band formed in 1972 in Los Angeles by Neil Merryweather. The group emerged during recording sessions with Mama Lion and included members such as Rick Gaxiola (guitar), James Newton Howard (keyboards), and Coffi Hall (drums). They released two albums: "Heavy Cruiser" (1972) and "Lucky Dog" (1973). Their music combined psychedelic hard rock and heavy blues with prominent fuzzed-out guitars and keyboards.
