Héctor Lavoe, born Héctor Juan Pérez Martínez on September 30, 1946, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, was a prominent salsa singer. He began his career in the 1960s and became known for his unique voice and style. In 1975, he released his debut solo album "La Voz," which included hits like "El Todopoderoso" and "Mi Gente." He collaborated with notable artists such as Willie Colón and was a member of the Fania All Stars. Lavoe passed away on June 29, 1993, in New York City.
