Henry Threadgill is an American jazz saxophonist and flutist, renowned for his innovative work with the ensemble Zooid. The albums "This Brings Us To, Volume 1" (2009) and "Volume 2" (2010) showcase his unique intervallic system of composition and group improvisation. These recordings were later released together in 2024 to coincide with a retrospective at the Big Ears Festival. Threadgill's work with Zooid culminated in the album "In for a Penny, In for a Pound" (2015), which won the Pulitzer Prize for Music.
