Herlin Riley is an American jazz drummer and a member of the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra led by Wynton Marsalis. Born in New Orleans, he began playing drums at the age of three. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists such as Ahmad Jamal, George Benson, and Harry Connick Jr. His notable albums include "Watch What You're Doing" (2000), "Cream of the Crescent" (2005), "New Direction" (2016), and "Perpetual Optimism" (2019). Riley is recognized for his contribution to Wynton Marsalis's album "Blood on the Fields," which won the Pulitzer Prize. In addition to performing, he is dedicated to teaching and conducting workshops for young musicians.
