Herman van Doorn is a Dutch jazz singer who studied jazz vocals and improvisation at the Conservatory of Utrecht and Berklee College in Boston. He is known for his soulful voice and virtuosic singing, with improvisations that often resemble instrumental performances with nearly unlimited sonic possibilities. His musical heart lies in improvised jazz, but throughout his career, he has explored various musical styles, including pop and musical theater. He released the album "Movin'" in 2002 under the Challenge Records label. He has collaborated with artists such as Ruth Jacott, Patricio Wang, and Marc van Vugt.
