Holden & Zimpel is a collaboration between British synth innovator James Holden and Polish clarinetist Wacław Zimpel. Their debut album, "The Universe Will Take Care Of You," was released on June 13, 2025, under the Border Community label. The album features six tracks that blend improvisation with psychedelic soundscapes, drawing from influences such as krautrock, minimalism, and traditional musical forms from Morocco and India. Both artists expanded their instrumentation, with Holden incorporating violin and percussion, while Zimpel utilized electric piano and traditional flutes. The album received positive reviews from critics for its hypnotic and transcendent quality.
