Hozan Yamamoto was a Japanese jazz musician, renowned as a master of the shakuhachi, a traditional bamboo flute. Over his fifty-year career, he pushed the boundaries of the genre, incorporating elements of fusion, funk, and spiritual jazz. Notable works include the album "Beautiful Bamboo-Flute" and the 1979 film soundtrack "Akuma Ga Kitarite Fue Wo Fuku," created in collaboration with keyboardist Yu Imai. This soundtrack blends various genres, from disco and funk to experimental pieces and neoclassical elements.
