Iain Matthews is an English musician and singer-songwriter, known for his participation in Fairport Convention from 1967 to 1969. After leaving the band, he formed Matthews Southern Comfort, achieving success with a cover of Joni Mitchell's "Woodstock," which topped the UK charts in 1970. Throughout his career, he has released approximately fifty albums, including "If You Saw Thro' My Eyes" (1971) and "Valley Hi" (1973). Matthews is recognized for his contributions to folk-rock and country rock, collaborating with artists like Sandy Denny and Richard Thompson.
