Icon for Hire is an American rock band from Decatur, Illinois, formed in 2007 by vocalist Ariel Bloomer and guitarist Shawn Jump. After releasing two EPs independently, they signed with Tooth & Nail Records and released their first two albums: "Scripted" in 2011 and "Icon for Hire" in 2013. Departing from the label in 2015, they continued to release music independently, including "You Can't Kill Us" (2016), "Amorphous" (2021), and "The Reckoning" (2022). Their music blends elements of alternative rock, rap rock, and pop punk. The band is known for energetic performances and lyrics addressing themes such as depression, anxiety, and self-harm.
